On Monday, we went to Mt. Rushmore. We spent a couple hours there. Hard to imagine what they went through to carve it out. It is so humbling to listen about our country and how much they loved it.  It is very sad what is happening now.

Then we drove on down through Custer State Park on the hunt of Buffalo.. 

These buses fit through the one lane tunnels.. Crazy.  Yesterday we saw someone taking their camper up there..We wondered if the tunnel would be closed because he was stuck, but I guess not..
Again....

We still didn't see any buffalo so we stopped at the visitor center and they showed us where they were spotted..

We ended up in Hot Springs 

8 years ago we found a little diner called Dale's in Hot Springs.  There was also a butcher shop right next door. We wanted to see if we could find it again. Sadly, the diner was gone (literally) but the butcher shop was still there and unfortunately for us, they aren't open on Mondays.  I think we are going to try to go back down tomorrow and see if we can get some elk or bison.

We are planning on returning to Mt. Rushmore tonight for the ceremony.  Will post that too.  Hopefully you are a bit cooler than we are..
