We left Virginia on Sunday afternoon and headed WEST!!  We stopped at Cracker Barrel in Hurricane, WV for the evening. Monday morning, we started out again headed for Indiana, passing through Ohio.  The Bridges in Ohio, crossing the Ohio River, were something.. We stopped at Cracker Barrel just east of Indianapolis.  The roads were terrible and it was such a relief to get off the road. On Tuesday, we started out at 6am hoping to get through Indianapolis before rush hour.  At 7:15, we made it through and then the rest of the day was much more pleasant. We passed through Illinois, which has lush farmland, lots of windmills, and solar panels.  We spent most of our Wednesday morning in Menards in Iowa.. Gary had to replace our extension cord for our freezer to the inverter. The IN roads caused it to malfunction.  So thankful for a handy man husband and a short trave day!!! We made it just south of Des Moines,  stopping at another Cracker Barrel.  We will know this menu by heart soon..lol We made it in Cracker Barrel just in the nick of time.. The rain is here again. Should cool us down some.  We have had beautiful weather for travelling.  Thank the Lord and thank you for all the prayers for safe travels so far.
