Day 1 at the South Rim

 Friday 9/6/24

Today we did the Red route.. We rode the shuttle to Hermits Rest and then walked back some and rode back some. It is great having the shuttle to save on Fuel and mileage.. we only drove 27 miles today .. and 7,542 since we left home July 22. It sure is nice to have a break from driving and dealing with parking issues and such..Really, it has been a very light amount of people.  We got back to camp around 3 and had a relaxing dinner outside in the shade.  Perhaps a campfire tonight??

Every viewpoint has it's own spectacular view!!

Not sure what this is.. I'll try to find out this week..

A man from Pheonix told us that it wasn't smoke, it was smog from LA ..It cleared up some the longer we were there.
