Train Ride

 Sunday 9/15/24

Today was our much awaited train ride in Chama NM. We walked over to the train station after our early morning time with our Lord.  We first took just over an hour bus ride to Antonito NM. We left Chama at 8:30 am and got back about 4:10 pm.. the trees are changing and the weather was beautiful, even with a little afternoon rain..

Then in Antonito we boarded the train. Gary got us in the Parlor Car which is the best area. You can walk out to any car and also stand in the open area as well.  

We were greated with fruit and a pastry and all the non alcoholic beverages you would like.

This guy follows behind the train to put out any fires along the way.

This drop was as soon as we came out of the tunnel.

Then we stopped for lunch which was an all you can eat buffet with most all being gluten-free.. it was great!!

We did get a little rain after lunch but then cleared up and was beautiful again..

People stood at all the crossings and waved to you.. It was pretty neat.

We stopped for about 10 minutes and took on water.

We saw a bear!!

They gave us a souvenir backpack and ornament.

It was pretty windy..

Time for a nice relaxing evening with a campfire.. traveling tomorrow..
