Canyonlands and Arches

 Saturday 8/24/24

Today we went to Canyonlands NP.. I thought we should hike the 3 mile Round trip first since it was the coolest time of the day. It was nice at the end but not as much getting there.. We should have started with the shorter ones first. By the time we got back and went to have our lunch, the wind picked up pretty bad. Then came the rain again. We did the best we could in between the raindrops.

We decided to try to finish Arches. Glad we did..it was short and beautiful! Can't go to Arches and not see the delicate arch.. the water was really high and some of the roads were still a mess from last nights flash flood.

The employee at The visitor center said that this was the 100-year storm. And that we experienced a truly unique phenomena. We weren't so grateful! LOL
